Ameris Bank Amphitheatre
On Thursday, July 23rd, you've got a date with rock and roll history! One of the most unlikely pairings will be taking the stage at the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta. Lynyrd Skynyrd's Southern Rock vibes will be met by Foreigner's romance on a night that will see cowboys and couples intertwine in the crowd.
Just to shake things up even more, Lynyrd Skynyrd, who are the home team at this Double Trouble Vision Tour, have decided to bring Six Gun Sally along as the opening act. This band's a lot more on that Southern rock side. When you've got a song titled "Redneck White and Badass Blue," you've essentially played your hand, letting the world know what you're all about.
It's going to be an event where blues and southern rock clash with romantic ballads. When it's all set and done, you're going to realize that these two musical styles actually work really well together. Make sure to click the "Buy Tickets" link soon; spots are likely going to run out.
Don't let the visuals fool you! Maybe at some point, Lynyrd Skynyrd were one of the "hard rock" bands out there. These days, they feature some of the most impactful lyrics of any band in rock history. The inclusion of Foreigner on the card lets you know that it's shaping up to be a highly emotional night. Before you know it, you're going to be singing along to a track from either of these two bands, and you're just not going to stop until the end of the night. That's what happens when you put two powerhouses together.
This combination is kind of an odd one if we're being honest about it. Foreigner is more on the soft rock side; they're not a band that you associate with the South like Lynyrd Skynyrd. Yet, they've got some ballads that everyone in the crowd is going to know by heart. Even the cowboys are going to be singing "I Want to Know What Love Is." That kind of harmony is going to make for a memorable show. You're probably going to be looking forward to plenty more tracks apart from the always amazing rendition of "Sweet Home Alabama."
The pit area can provide that traditional rock concert feel. One of the benefits of a show like this is that you know the average age in the crowd's gonna be a little higher. That means that you can be confident about standing in the pit, knowing most people are going to be civil. This isn't an event where you'd expect a massive mosh pit. Of course, since the average age group is a little higher, there's no shame in admitting you want to be in a comfortable seat with a clear route for refueling out in the concession stands. The middle of the 100s sections and even the lawn could be perfect for that kind of night.
This is a combination that's probably not going to be coming back around any time soon, and knowing that you're going to want to be quick about clicking that "Buy Tickets" link to guarantee your seats.
