Darius Rucker is a highly-acclaimed musician and singer-songwriter. He first gained prominence as frontman and rhythm guitarist for the Grammy Award-winning band Hootie & the Blowfish. They produced six highly-acclaimed studio albums, two of which are certified multi-platinum. Apart from the Grammys, Hootie & The Blowfish won several more accolades, including American Music Awards and an MTV Video Music Award.
In 2002, Darius Rucker pursued his solo career and released his debut single, “Exodus.” The song and follow-up single “Wild One” were featured in his debut album, Back to Then, which performed moderately well on the mainstream charts. The sophomore effort, Learn to Live, has a more country music sound. As a result, the album topped Billboard’s Country charts and peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200. Rucker’s phenomenal breakthrough led to over one million copies in sales, earning him his first platinum certification in the U.S.
Since his stellar sophomore effort, Rucker has been a staple among country music fans. His subsequent albums all performed excellently on the charts. He earned three more number 1 albums and released nine number 1 single, including “Wagon Wheel,” “This,” and “Come Back Song.”
