This year, Chris Stapleton received widespread praise for his performance of the national anthem before Super Bowl 2023 in front of a crowd in Glendale, Arizona, following Sheryl Lee Ralph's "Lift Every Voice and Sing" and Babyface's "America the Beautiful." “Man, it felt great. It really did,” Stapleton said on Entertainment Tonight about the performance. “The energy was good, and the crowd was hyped up for the game, so that kind of gets you ready to go.” He also received high praise from fellow Country music singer Parker McCollum, "Chris Stapleton is the greatest singer of all time, and you can’t change my mind."
