The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra presents the upcoming musical program Movie Magic hosted on the main stage of Ameris Bank Amphitheatre. This socially distanced musical spectacle will feature iconic film scores performed by the Atlanta Symphony and led by Conductor Damon Gupton. Selections from the night will include film scores from Forrest Gump, Schindler’s List, The Godfather and few other surprises. Director for the evening Damon Gupton is a native of Detroit, Michigan, served as American Conducting Fellow of the Houston Symphony and held the post of assistant conductor of the Kansas City Symphony. His conducting appearances include the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, Detroit Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Cincinnati Pops and many others. Musical collaborations include work with Marcus Miller, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Common, Leslie Odom Jr., Byron Stripling, Tony DeSare, The Midtown Men, Kenn Hicks, Kathleen Battle and Jamie Cullum.
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra is based in Atlanta, Georgia, now in its 76th year the ASO continues to affirm its position as one of America’s leading orchestras with excellent live performances, renowned guest artist features and engaging education initiatives. The ASO performs more than 150 concerts each year from the Delta Classical Series, Movies in Concert, Family Concert Series, Atlanta Symphony Hall LIVE and the Coca-Cola Holiday Series, as well as community and education concerts.
