Unlike most amphitheaters in colder cities, Ameris Bank Amphitheatre can open the concert season as early as April. The gorgeous spring season of Alpharetta allows for outdoor events during this time. Hence, one of the major openers for the spring season was the sensational American singer-songwriter Cody Johnson. His 2023 trek, titled Cody Johnson & Friends, brought along several impressive acts. For his coveted stop in Alpharetta, the country music superstar brought Randy House and Hailey Whitters. It was a great night for phenomenal music as the performers delivered countless country music staples and demonstrated incredible stage presence and musicianship.

Opening the month of May with a bang, the venue made way for the massive co-headlining tour featuring Mastodon and Gojira. These heavy metal giants named their outing the Mega-Monsters Tour 2023 – and that’s exactly what arrived at the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre on Saturday, 6th May! Fans were treated to numerous headbang-worthy hits as both bands stirred things up with the high-powered sets. Thanks to the venue’s vast open space, there were plenty of opportunities for creating circle pits and walls of death! The venue was the ultimate headbangers dream!
After a week, Ameris mellowed things down with the outstanding performance of Kenny Loggins and Yacht Rock Revue. It was a great night of soft rock and soul hits as the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter delivered one of his last shows in Alpharetta, Georgia. You see, Loggins was on his final trek, titled This Is It! His Final Tour. Bringing along special guests Yacht Rock Revue, Loggins definitely delivered a memorable night. That same month, the venue also hosted a show by another great songwriter, Hang William Jr. The all-around performance delivered his brand rock- and blues-infused country music to a fully packed crowd. Son of the legendary Hank Williams, Hank Williams Jr. proved that he had gotten his father’s great talent upon delivering a multitude of hits. The multi-instrumentalist demonstrated his prowess for the guitar, fiddle, piano, and more as he conquered the stage on Saturday, 20th May.
The following day after Hank Williams Jr.’s memorable show, the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre welcomed the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. The premiere orchestra has made it a point to make world-class symphonic performances available to the public. Hence, this day was packed with families, groups of friends, and more.
In June, the amphitheater hosted amazing rock shows featuring Garbage, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, and Weezer. That same month, the venue was also visited by multi-platinum-selling artist Peter Frampton. The following month, Ameris delivered a highly coveted kid-friendly pop concert featuring the Kidz Bop Live! The concert is part of the most awaited children’s music concert of the year. The Kidz Bop Kidz delivered the year’s hottest pop songs, but the lyrics were rewritten to make family-friendly bops! You can just imagine the excitement and energy that filled the amphitheater on this exciting day! It was definitely one of the books for pop music-loving kids of Georgia.
One of the more prominent rock festivals that came to the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre was the Sad Summer Festival 2023. Headlined by various pop-punk powerhouses, such as Taking Back Sunday, The Maine, and PVRIS, the festival brought in audiences from Georgia and beyond. It was one of the most anticipated pop-punk spectacles of the year, and the day was fully packed with both locals and tourists.
The iconic jam giant Phish made their way to Ameris on Saturday, 15th July 2023 and conquered the venue for three nights. You know what they say: wherever Phish goes, Phish Heads follow. And boy, was the venue packed to the brim! Phish delivered their signature segues, extended jams, and onstage improvisations. It was definitely three nights of excellent musicianship and music prodigies. A few days after Phish’s three-night residency, another illustrious jam band came in. Dave Matthews Band took over the venue on Tuesday, 25th July. Needless to say, Dave Matthews Band totally nailed their performance at the venue. In fact, the touring powerhouse had always made Ameris Bank Amphitheatre their home whenever they passed through Georgia. Hence, the night was almost like a yearly tradition for jam-rock fanatics.
On Saturday, 29th July, another monster touring group led by the esteemed singer-songwriter and musician Jelly Roll had arrived. The CMT award-winning performer was currently on his highly coveted backroad Baptism Tour. The night was filled with outstanding hits, such as “The Lost,” “Dead Man Walking,” “Save Me,” and many more. But wait, there’s more! Making the night even more awesome were performances from Jelly Roll’s friends, Struggle Jennings, Caitlynne Curtis, and Josh Adam Meyers.

In the following months, the Ameris Bank Amphitheatre had fully packed schedules. The venue was visited by some of the most in-demand live performers, including Bret Michaels, Disturbed, The All-American Rejects, and Pentatonix. One of the more highly coveted shows was Chris Stapleton’s All American Road Show. The iconic singer-songwriter brought along Marcus King and Allen Stone for his stop in Alpharetta.
Another stand-out show in the summer season was the massive show of The Chief. Eric Church’s Outsiders Revival Tour was a highly-anticipated gig, and flocks of fans came in to see him perform at the venue. Ultimately, the crowd was 12,000 strong, and Eric Church has proven once again that he is a monster in bringing the most high-energy country music shows of the season.
Ameris Bank Amphitheatre prides itself on its great customer service. The venue’s management had worked tirelessly to make the experience at the venue seamless and fuss-free. Many attendees can attest to the venue’s steadfast dedication to providing guests with the best time. “We parked in Lot A. Easy walk in and out—no complications getting through security and ticket scanning. We had dinner immediately before arrival, so we did not purchase any food or drink. Just brought in Dasani as permitted,” said Michelle from Georgia. Meanwhile, another concertgoer from Georgia raved about the venue’s ample parking. “Decent venue! The parking was free which is great, and there’s several decks in the garage.” Lastly, Karen R. from Georgia raved about the venue in her review. “Nice venue. Well planned. All seats and lawn are good. Food & drink are available on top of the lawn, too. Getting in & out is easier than Lakewood. Plenty of bathrooms.”
